The Breathe Down Buddy™ integrates seamlessly into existing anesthesia breathing circuits, requiring no changes to established workflows. Weighing just 0.04 kg (1.4 ounces), it's lightweight enough that CRNAs can maintain their usual mask technique without adjustment when positioning it over a patient’s mouth and nose.

When the child exhales, their breath propels a ball into the game piece, where it bounces through a “plinko” or pinball-style path. A numbered scoring system adds a playful, competitive element, keeping the child engaged and distracted as anesthesia is gently delivered.
This works because it's designed to give children three things: Control, Distraction, and Predictability. Instead of fear, they have something they can actively engage with.
For clinicians, this means less resistance, smoother inductions, and reduced stress in the OR.
It gives them back control of that critical moment.
For hospitals, it means fewer delays, better utilization of operating rooms, and improved patient experiences.
It's operationally and emotionally aligned.
Existing approaches either add complexity, cost, or don't fit the moment.
Breathe Down Buddy™ is disposable, requires no power, and integrates seamlessly, making it uniquely practical for real-world use.
Timing is important.
Clinicians are being pushed to reduce restraints and unnecessary medication, while hospitals are being measured more closely on patient experience.
The need for a solution like this has never been clearer.
